IPP made in Germany International Postgraduate Programmes

This is a network of about 50 postgraduate programmes offered in a wide range of disciplines and subjects at centres of scientific excellence throughout Germany.
The website www.daad.de/ipp lists the profiles of all programmes, including details on questions of application, deadlines, selection, language courses, guidance-counselling, etc.

Max Planck Society (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft)

The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science is an independent, non-profit research organization. The primary goal of the Max Planck Society is to promote research at its own institutes. The institutes perform basic research in the interest of the general public in the natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. The 78 research facilities are organized into the Chemistry, Physics and Technology Section; the Biology and Medicine Section; and the Human Sciences Section.

Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft undertakes applied research of direct utility to private and public enterprise and of wide benefit to society. Its services are solicited by customers and contractual partners in industry, the service sector and public administration. 

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is the leading organization for applied research in Europe. Its research activities are conducted by 58 Fraunhofer Institutes at over 40 different locations throughout Germany. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft employs a staff of around 12,400, who work with an annual research budget totaling 1.25 billion euros. Roughly two thirds of this sum is generated through contract research on behalf of industry and publicly funded research projects.
