African Excellence

Five Centres of Excellence in Africa

An independent selection committee reviewed the numerous applications and identified five Centres of Excellence out of 70 qualified project proposals:

* Ghanaian-German Centre for Development Studies and Health Research (Double Centre)
Partner: University of Ghana - University of Bonn (ZEF) and University of Heidelberg

* Congolese-German Centre for Microfinance
Partner: Université Protestante au Congo - Frankfurt School of Finance and Management

* Tanzanian-German Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Law
Partner: University of Tanzania - University of Bayreuth

* Namibian-German Centre for Logistics
Partner: Polytechnic of Namibia - Flensburg University of Applied Science

* South African-German Centre for Development Research and Criminal Justice (Double Centre)
Partner: University of the Western Cape - Ruhr-University Bochum and Humboldt-University Berlin

Along with the largely interdisciplinary Master's and PhD programmes, all of the centres impart supplementary knowledge in the area of Good Governance and other multidisciplinary skills.
