Academic collaboration between African and German universities.
Applications have to be handed in to DAAD Head Office in Bonn by the German partner.
Eligible for applications are delegations of specialists from German higher education institutions.
What is funded?
The delegation’s travels to initiate cooperation between a higher education institution and a developing country. Through visits to multiple higher education institutions (respective ministries and other institutions) the partner’s institution’s needs should be met and the founding of close and contract bounded cooperation, on departmental and institutional level, is to be established. These measures should serve as prearrangements for long-term cooperation, which after a successful initial phase, will be taken up by the programme “Subject-related Partnerships with Universities in Developing Countries”.
Maximum funding per project amounts to 15,000 Euros/ year.
Subsidised expenses:
- International travel expenses for German participants;
- National travel expenses abroad, subsistence expenses according to the Federal Travelling Expenses Act (Bundesreisekostengesetz, BRKG) in association with the foreign cost travel expense decree (Auslandsreisekostenverordnung), receipts required.
General details for the application:
The application can be sent via the higher education institution’s management. The higher education institution may also address the application directly to the DAAD.
Besides a clear description of the project’s aim, a detailed travel agenda as well as the budget form must be handed in. A German professor as person in charge is to be mentioned.
