Former DAAD scholarship holders can apply once a year for scientific books and Journals produced by German publishers to help them advance their academic knowledge.
Who can apply?
DAAD alumni from all fields who spent at least one year in Germany at a higher education institution as well as former German studies scholarship holders (who received support for a period of at least 5 months)

Application Deadline: January 1st until October 31st of each year
The Re-invitation programme helps DAAD maintain contacts with its former scholarship holders who studied in Germany for at least one year. Alumni meeting this requirement can apply for re-invitation to Germany to complete a research or work project at a state higher education institution or non-university research institute for a period of one to three months.
Equipment Grants for Higher Education and Comparable Scientific & Research Institutions in Developing Countries
This programme is aimed at supporting projects in developing countries in the field of teaching, research and development and to improve services at universities and comparable scientific and research institutions in developing countries. Applications for equipment grants must be linked to a specific research, teaching, consultancy or service-oriented project.
Who can apply?
Former DAAD scholarship holders from a developing country, who
completed at least part of their studies at a German institution of higher learning, have an employment contract with their home institution of higher education and are in contact with German scientists/academics or scientific/research/higher education institutions.
Foreign academics from a developing country who completed part of their studies or research at a German higher education institution with or without financial support from Germany, have an employment contract with their home institution of higher education and are in contact with German scientists/academics or scientific/research/higher education institutions.
German academics working at an institution of higher education or similar
institution in a developing country and have an employment contract with the foreign host institution. The remaining duration of the employment contract must enable them to use the equipment for at least one full year after delivery.
Funding:
Small-scale projects:
Total value of up to EUR 3, 580.
Large-scale projects:
Total value in excess of EUR 3580 and up to a maximum of EUR 20,450.
Exceeding the funding limit:
In exceptional cases projects may exceed the funding limit of EUR 20,450.
DAAD alumni who spent at least one year in Germany can subscribe to the magazine “Letter” free of charge. The magazine is published three times a year and contains information on new developments and trends at German institutions of higher learning as well as information on various DAAD supported activities. The magazine is only available in the German language.
